I love this design and I love lariats, too! This one is classic in it's simplicity and has a lot of interest as well. The crystals add movement to the piece and the chips have the illusion of weight. This must be a wonderful piece to wear. 5 STARS...

Chain Gang Jewelry

Books are one of the many jewelry making items many of us add to your holiday gift list, so you may want to take a look at a new book I recently reviewed. This book focuses on making jewelry using prefabricated chain. It is called Chain Style: 50 Contemporary Jewelry Designs (Interweave Press $19.95,) and it is written by Jane Dickerson. Along with designs created by the author, nine other jewelry designer collaborated on this title.

After reading the review, you may want to add this to your "want list," or consider giving it to a jewelry making friend.

Jewelry Gifts that Give Twice

Beads for Education is an organization which provides scholarships for girls in Africa through beading. Their goal is to help education and thus help them make a better life for themselves. And, of course, one way they do this through selling beaded jewelry and other beaded items through the organization's web site. The jewelry and other products are made by 25 women who are members of the Dupoto Women's Group.

They have a pretty wide variety of merchandise from very cool key chains that sell for only $15 to very elaborate beaded collars that sell for almost two hundred dollars. They also have holiday ornaments, starting at around $12 each.
